This extremely well-researched book is about the airplanes that one of France’s genuine 20th Century geniuses - Leon Levavasseur - designed and built during the Golden Age of Aviation, roughly from 1903 through 1914. Although he is not well known by those unfamiliar with this period of aviation history, one of his creations, the Antoinette monoplane, is hailed by many to be the most beautiful airplane ever built. The book has photos on 50 pages. The book also discusses contemporary issues in France affecting aviation, including the military’s attitude toward aviation during this period.
