Alex Henshaw acquired the Perival Mew Gull G-AEXF in 1937. he had the luck to grow up in the 1920s and 1930s during the golden age of flying and before long had his own Gipsy Moth After many initial successes with his mew Gull, he had a victory in the King's Cup of 1938. This was followed by an amazing solo flgith to Cape Town and back in 1939, breaking all records and which, as a solo, flight still stands today.
