Being the Log and operations of the ' Dutch Girl ' Observation Squadron with the American Expeditionary Force in France, 1918-19. The 50th was activated at Kelly Field in Aug. 1917. From Feb. 1918 they flew in England, and from July 1918 they began combat in France during the St. Mihiel & Argonne offensives. Their most famous hour was in locating the famous ' Lost Battalion ' of the 77th Infantry division, which was trapped behind German lines, for which the pilot & obersver rec'd the Medal of Honor.
